From Fox News: Clayton Morris and fellow reporters use the Apple iPad, examining the e-book functionality. Rumor has it that the iBooks e-reader currently does not let readers choose an “unjustified text” format. I hate reading justified text but am assuming that future version of iBooks will fix this. From a post by John Gruber: iBooks uses [...] more »

Weekend iPad Coverage Roundup Weekend iPad Coverage Roundup - 1-2-2010 13:20:54
We won't do one of these every day, but after the first week of the iPad's existence, lots of people had a lot to say. Lots of people are frustrated with iBooks. ABC News laments Apple's decision to force iBooks users to buy all their eBooks from iBooks: "Apple's creation of a third choice is likely to further frustrate and confuse consumers if they accumulate e-books for one device, then try to go back to read them later on a different one. The effect could be akin to having to buy a new set more »

Filed under: Apple Corporate , Hardware Apple Australia has published iPad content to their site, and some keen-eyed observers have noticed what's missing. The list of features explained on the site includes much of what we saw yesterday -- Safari, Mail, YouTube, video ... all but iBooks and the iBookstore. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you'll see a footnote stating that iBooks will be U.S.-only at launch. In the meantime, all iPhone/iPod touch apps will run on the iPad, international uses can grab the Kindle app [Free - iTunes link ] (the irony is not lost on us), Classics [Free - iTunes link ] or any of the other ereaders in the App Store [ iTunes link ] more »
